New Delhi: A special flight arrived at Delhi Airport from Kabul in Afghanistan yesterday carrying 110 stranded persons. The special Kam Air flight was arranged by India under Operation Devi Shakti. The External Affairs Ministry said, the flight brought 10 Indians and 94 Afghans including members of the Afghan Hindu-Sikh minority community. Nine children including three infants are among the evacuees.

Three holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from historical Gurudwaras in Afghanistan and ancient Hindu religious scriptures including Ramayan, Mahabharat and Bhagavad Gita were also brought to India by the flight.

carried the Guru Granth Sahib which was brought by a Sikh delegation from historical Gurdwaras in Afghanistan.

Talking to the media, before the departure of the flight from Kabul, one of the evacuees thanked the Indian Government for ensuring safe evacuation.

Indian World Forum has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring safe and smooth passage for the passengers. Sikh delegation has also expressed happiness saying that they are returning to their homes with the help of the Indian Government.

The Government of India has evacuated more than 565 Indian nationals from the Afghanistan so far.
