India and China to hold the 11th round of talks at Chushul BPO in eastern Ladakh on India side this morning. Corps Commanders of both the countries will discuss disengagement from remaining friction points in the region.
Nearly after one year of face off in eastern Ladakh region, the core commanders are meeting for the 11th time at Chushul on Indian side, this morning. Indian delegation will be led by GoC of 14 Corps LtGen PGK Menon, while the South Xinjiang military commander Maj Gen Liu Lin, lead the PLA delegation.
After last year’s bloody summer, operational preparedness and a multi level engagement to restore peace and tranquility in the region are
yielding results. Today’s corp commander level talks focus on other friction points like Gogra, Hot Springs and Depsang plains in Ladakh. Southern banks and finger areas of Pangong Tso have seen the smooth completion of disengagement after Ten rounds of talks.
However, certain concerns on Pangong finger areas, and within the Indian perception of the LAC at other standoff points would also come up for discussion today. On Thursday, China said there will be no delay in talks with India to discuss disengagement of troops from eastern Ladakh.
However, the long perceptional line of control in eastern Ladakh is always challenging.
