New Delhi: Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that India has taken a major stride in the digital and technology sector in the last nine years. He said, in these years, the country has become the world's largest country in digital transactions.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, Mr. Chandrasekhar said, now the remotest parts of India are experiencing empowerment through technology. He said the country is witnessing the fastest implementation of the 5G rollout. He said, there is a boost of



digital connectivity in the country and it's the vision and mission of the government to ensure safety and security in cyberspace.
       
Terming 2004 to 2014 as a lost decade, the Minister criticised the previous government for rampant corruption in the technology space. He said the investors left India in that period and BSNL was destroyed. He said, under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, corruption and leakage were stopped through the effective implementation of DBT which benefitted the people.
