Bhopal: India International Science Festival is commencing in Madhya Pradesh today. The festival, organised at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology-MANIT, Bhopal, will continue till the 24th of January. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the chief guest of the opening ceremony of the India International Science Festival. Union Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will be present as a special guest.
More than 8,000 delegates from different regions of the country will participate in the science festival being held for the first time in Bhopal. Eminent scientists, researchers, students from universities, colleges and schools, teachers and industry experts will participate in the
festival. The theme of this festival is 'Moving towards Amritkal with science, technology and innovation'. 15 activities will be organized in the festival this time.
The festival is being organised under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Biotechnology, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, CSIR, Department of Space, Atomic Energy and Vigyan Bharati. The main objective of celebrating the Science Festival is to celebrate scientific and technological achievements and to involve common people in this event. Encouraging creativity and innovation among school children is also an important aspect of this event.
