India repatriated seven Pakistani civilian prisoners yesterday. Last week, India had released and repatriated fourteen Pakistani fishermen.
The External Affairs Ministry said, India attaches high priority to addressing humanitarian issues including early release and repatriation of Indian fishermen and prisoners in Pakistan's
custody.
It said, the release of 178 Indian prisoners, including 174 fishermen, has been secured so far this year.
Earlier yesterday, Pakistan released 30 Indian prisoners, including 27 fishermen, as a goodwill gesture to mark the country's Independence day which is today.
