Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has reiterated that India is on track to become the third-largest economy in the world in the coming two years. He said that India has now become the fifth-largest economy in the world. He said this while addressing the Armed Forces Flag Day CSR Conclave in New Delhi yesterday.

Mr Rajnath emphasized the crucial role of both the public and private sectors in the country’s economic development. He underscored the importance of self-reliance, stating that India’s progress towards economic independence has been significantly

driven by the participation of both sectors. He particularly stressed the necessity of private sector involvement in the defence industry, calling it vital for achieving self-sufficiency in national security.

The Defence Minister also pointed out that India’s per capita income is continuously rising, reflecting the nation’s overall economic growth. He lauded the unwavering dedication of Indian soldiers, recognizing their role as the “first line of defence” in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
