India has welcomed the announcement of Israel and Hamas agreeing to a deal designed to end the 15-month-long war in Gaza.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement expressing hope that the peace deal will pave the way for a safe and sustained supply of humanitarian
assistance to the people of Gaza.
"We welcome the announcement of the agreement for the release of hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza. We hope this will lead to a safe and sustained supply of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza," the MEA said in a post on X (previously Twitter).
