Indian Coast Guard deploys ships, aircraft and disaster relief teams in flood affected areas of South Tamil Nadu

Apart from the



helicopter, a detachment of Coast Guard air squadrons consisting of one dornier and two ALH Mk -III positioned at Madurai airport have commenced continuous sorties to render assistance in flood affected areas. Three helicopters undertook sorties to drop more than 600 kilogram of relief material consisting of food packets and other essential items provided by the State Government for the affected citizens.
