In response to the heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding in the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, Indian Navy assets have been actively deployed to assist the state administration and NDRF in ongoing relief efforts.
The Defence Ministry said that the Navy is continuing its operations, evacuating stranded individuals and dropping food packets using aerial assets. Indian naval helicopters have
dropped 1,820 kilograms of food packets and 22 kilograms of medicines to affected personnel.
The Ministry said that flood relief teams are being deployed at Ajit Singh Nagar in NTR District to distribute food and relief materials in the affected areas. These teams are also facilitating the evacuation of personnel from locations accessible by Gemini boats.
