Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw yesterday said that Indian Railways is manufacturing 2 thousand 5 hundred General Coaches this year and this will follow the manufacturing of 10 thousand more General coaches. Speaking on the occasion of a MoU signing between Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya of Indian Railways and leading commercial aircraft manufacturer Airbus,
Mr Vaishnaw said that the government’s prime focus has been to cater to the economically weaker section and middle class.
He said two Amrit Bharat trains that were flagged off last year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were also in line with this objective only. Mr Vaishnaw also informed that Railways is also running about 10 thousand special trains this summer season to fulfill the heavy demand during this period. He also informed that the manufacturing of 50 more Amrit Bharat trains has already started and the roll out of ‘Kawach’ is also being done at a fast pace.
