Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that Kashi is a cultural centre of India. He said that Kashi Tamil Sangamam is a celebration of the special age-old connection between Kashi and Tamil Nadu.

While addressing the academic session of Kashi Tamil Sangmam 3.0 on tradition, technology, and the world at BHU in Varanasi yesterday, Mr Jaishankar said that India is a country of diversity, and despite different cultures, it shows the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

In another session with students of IIT BHU, the External Affairs Minister said that Prime Minister Modi always emphasises that nation-building requires both tradition and technology. In India, there are people who can barely read or

write, but they have no hesitation in using smartphones, which shows how quickly the Indian masses have embraced digital technology. He said that the world has more expectations from India today, and our country also has greater responsibilities towards the world.

Mr. Jaishankar also interacted with Tamil and foreign delegates and replied to their questions during this session, providing a unique opportunity for the global representatives to not only closely witness the confluence of two great cultures of Kashi and Kanchi but also deepen their understanding of India beyond the geography of New Delhi. 45 ambassadors from various countries and students of BHU participated in the event.
