Former director of INX Media, Indrani Mukerjea will be produced before a Delhi court on May 23rd in an alleged corruption case involving her company.
Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union minister P Chidambaram, is a co-accused in the case. In January this year, she had made an application seeking to become an approver in the case.
In a statement before a magistrate, Indrani had alleged that Karti had demanded one million dollar from her and husband Peter Mukerjea to avoid action from the Foreign
Investment Promotion Board for irregularities by INX Media, of which the husband and wife duo were directors.
While the CBI had given their 'no-objection' to her turning an approver, the court has sought her production to ascertain if she can turn an approver.
Last month, in a letter to CBI, she had claimed that she was being influenced by a co-accused to retract her statements. Thereafter, a CBI official had sought permission from court to meet her.
