Information provided through Aarogya Setu will be used only for medical intervention: NITI Aayog CEO

NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has said the government will use information provided through Aarogya Setu only for medical intervention and people's data will never be used for any other purpose.

In a series of tweets, Mr. Kant  said the privacy is key and  the government has given it the highest level of importance. He said the Arogya Setu app will shield people, their families and the community against Covid-19.  Terming  it as a world-class Make In India product, he said it  empowers people  with



information  about the potential risk of infection.

 

The  mobile application enables people to assess themselves the risk for their catching the Coronavirus infection. It calculates this based on their interaction with others, using cutting edge Bluetooth technology, algorithms and artificial intelligence. Stressing the importance of Aarogya Setu App, Secretary in the Ministry of  Electronics & Information Technology, Ajay Prakash Sawhney said that the App will prove an effective tool in fighting COVID 19.
