Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind yesterday said, Kashmir is an integral part of India and the welfare of the people in the valley lies in their integration with India.
The Jamiat, having about one crore Indian Muslims said, any separatist movement, is not only harmful for India but also for the people of Kashmir.
A resolution passed at it's Annual General Meeting in New Delhi yesterday, also said, inimical forces and Pakistan are destroying Kashmir, which is an integral part of India and all Kashmiris are compatriots.
In its resolution, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind said, protecting the democratic and human rights of Kashmiri people is the national duty and exuded firm belief that their welfare lies in getting integrated with India.
It said that the current situation poses a threat not only to Kashmir but to the entire region and it is in the interest of Kashmiri people that the situation must change.
It said the situation demands that peaceful
initiatives are launched to maintain peace and security in the region.
Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind appealed to the Government that while respecting the human rights, it must protect the life and property of Kashmiri people and use every possible constitutional means for bringing back normalcy in the region and winning the hearts of the people of Kashmir.
Jamiat President Maulana Sayed Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuri said that rumours are being spread that Indian Muslims have a different opinion on Kashmir issue. He said, Kashmir is an integral part of India and will remain so.
Later addressing the media, Jamait General Secretary, Maulana Mahmood Madni said, we may have many differences within the country but when it comes to the nation, we are all Indians and there cannot be any compromise on the country's security and integrity.
He rejected Pakistan's attempt to show to the world that Indian Muslims have a different view on Kashmir.
