West Bengal Chief Secretary said in his report to the Election Commission that injury to CM Mamata Banerjee's leg in Nandigram was caused due to the car door. The Trinamool Congress chief was discharged from the SKKM Hospital in Kolkata after undergoing treatment for two days.

West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay submitted his report to the EC in this regard on Friday evening. Officials of the Election Commission are in the process of discussing the report via video conference.

While stating that the injury was caused by the car door, the report does not clearly

mention what led to the door slamming on Mamata Banerjee's leg. As alleged by the TMC, the report also does not state whether or not some individuals deliberately closed the car door injuring Mamata Banerjee as a result.

In addition, the Chief Secretary's report also mentions that a massive crowd had gathered on the road in Nandigram when the incident took place on March 10.

On the other hand, the report does say that an iron pole was not far from CM Mamata Banerjee's car but does not clearly say if the door of the vehicles closed on her leg after brushing against the pole.
