In Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, intense cold wave condition has badly affected the power generation in the region.Low discharge of water in the Indus river caused by harsh weather has forced the authorities to reschedule the power supply. To generate sufficient amount of power, water is being
stored during the day time due to which people have to face power curtailment.
It is being compensated by ensuring uninterrupted power supply during the peak hours in the morning from 6 to 10 and seven hours in the evening from 5 p.m. to 12 am.
