In Gujarat, international kite festival is underway at Sabarmati River front in Ahmedabad. Chief Minister Anandiben Patel inaugurated the 28th edition of the festival in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Speaking on this occasion, Mrs. Patel claimed, the festival has boosted the kite-making industry along with attracting foreign tourists in Gujarat. She said, Kite making business has grown from Rs. 100 crore to Rs. 700 crore during last one decade following international kite festival in the state.
The Governor of Gujarat O.P. Kohli and Minister of state for tourism Jayesh Radadiya were also present on this occasion.

About 98 foreign kite flyers from 28 different countries are participating in this five days annual event. About 55 kite flyers from 8 different state and 28 kite flyers from Gujarat are also participating in this event.
Countries like U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Netherlands, Singapore, Turkey, Vietnam, Poland, Argentina and Brazil are taking part in this event.
International kite festival are simultaneously organized in other cities of the state including Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Porbandar, Mandvi and Modhera.
