Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would deposit Rs 2,204.77 crore as second installment under the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan programme for the fifth consecutive year. This will benefit 53.53 lakh farmers.
The programme would be held at Puttaparthi in Sri Sathya Sai district on Tuesday.
The YSRC government has been extending the Rythu Bharosa assistance of Rs 13,500 per year to all eligible landless SC, ST, BC and minority farmers including the farmers cultivating RoFR and endowment lands as also those cultivating their own lands.
The state government has credited Rs 65,500 to each farmer under YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan programme so far, taking the total amount disbursed to the farmers to Rs 33,209.81 crore in the last four years.
Under the programme, a financial assistance of Rs 13,500 will be given in three installments every year with the first installment of Rs 7,500 in May during kharif sowing season, the second installment of Rs 4,000 in October/November for harvesting the crop and for rabi needs and the third installment of Rs 2,000 being given in January/February at the time of crop harvest.
Though the YSRC government had promised in its manifesto to extend a financial assistance of Rs 12,500 in four years with a total of Rs 50,000, it is extending Rs 13,500 for five years with a total of Rs 67,500, with an
additional amount being given of Rs 17,500 – which is more than what was promised.
The Rythu Bharosa Kendras are assisting farmers as the one-stop centres --from seed to crop sale -- right at their doorstep through 10,778 RBKs. Under free crop insurance, the state government is paying the entire cost of insurance premium and regular payment of insurance claims of a specific season prior to the start of the same season, the following year.
There is scientific estimation of crop loss based on e-crop data and farmers receive input subsidy for crop loss that occur by the end of the same season when the loss occurred.
The Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu benefits are given based on e-crop data. Nine-hour quality power supply during day time to farmers is assured while feeder capacity has been enhanced with Rs 1,700 crore to supply quality power.
Power subsidy is being given to aqua farmers at a subsidised rate of Rs 1.50 per unit and the state government spent Rs 2,968 crore, including Rs 452 crore in pending arrears left behind by the previous government.
An MoU with Amul has been entered into to empower women of daily cooperative societies. The farmers are earning an additional income of Rs 10-22 per litre of milk and ambulance services and insurance for cattle are also being provided.
