Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate the Sea Harrier museum in Visakhapatnam on May 11 and participate in several other programmes.

Although the detailed itinerary is yet to be released, an official note released on Sunday stated that the Chief Minister will arrive in the city in the morning and land at the cricket stadium in Madhurawada where he will unveil the statue of Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. The CM will then head to the health city in Arilova and inaugurate the cancer block of Apollo Hospital.

Before winding up his tour, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the Sea Harrier fighter jet museum at RK

Beach.

Collector Dr A. Mallikarjuna, police commissioner C.M. Trivikram Varma and GVMC commissioner Saikanth Varma inspected the places to be visited by the CM.

The collector said the decommissioned Sea Harrier was brought from Goa and converted into a museum by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA). This will be the third defence institution, in addition to the INS Kursura submarine museum and the TU-142 air force transport museum.

These museums will attract tourists, especially students, who will get an opportunity to understand the operations of these forces.
