Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to set foundation stone for construction of a fish landing centre at Rayadaruvu of Vakadu mandal inTirupati district at 10 am on November 21.
The CM will deposit Rs 161.86 crore as fourth instalment to benefit 23,458 fishermen families of Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema and Kakinada districts who lost their livelihoods due to the pipeline works of ONGC at the rate of Rs 11,500 per month each with a total of Rs 69,000 for six months.
Under YSR Matsyakara Bharosa, financial aid of Rs 10,000 per month for marine fishing ban period (April 15 to June 14) to be given to eligible fishermen families.
To avoid distress migration and to promote better livelihood of coastal fishermen, the state government has taken up construction of 10 fishing harbours and six fish landing centres of world class standards at a
cost of Rs 3,793 crore.
The state government is providing subsidy on HSD oil by enhancing it to Rs 9 per litre from 6.03 Allier and this will provide a total benefit of Rs 118.27 crore in four-and-half-years.
The state government has enhanced ex gratia amount to Rs 10 lakh from Rs 5 lakh to the famines of fishermen, who lost their lives during the fishing.
The state government is constructing four new outs at Ramayapatnam, Mulapeta, Machilipatnama and at Kakinada Gateway at a cost of Rs 11,000 crore within four-and-half-years.
The government is initiating steps to restore the shrunken sea moth of Pulicat lake at a cost of Rs 94.75 crore to bring back its glory as it was neglected during the previous government and it provides livelihood to 20,000 fishermen families.
