Senior BJP leader Jai Ram Thakur will take oath as new Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh today.The swearing-in-ceremony will be held at the historic Ridge Ground of Shimla this morning.

A five-time MLA, Mr Thakur won Siraj Assembly seat of Mandi district this time. He was born on the 6th of January, 1965 in Tandi village of Mandi district.Governor Aacharya Devvrat will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Mr Thakur.

Advani, eight Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states will be present at the swearing in ceremony.

This will be the first time when the Prime Minister will attend the oath taking ceremony of the Chief Minister in the state. 

Shimla has been decorated in a magnificent way for the swearing-in ceremony. Seating arrangements have been made for more than 10 thousand people at the venue. According to sources, the cabinet will be a mix of experienced and new faces.
