Haveri: Karnataka Agriculture minister B C Patil has informed that the Central Government flagship programme Jal Jeevan Mission will be implemented in the state in a time bound manner.

Speaking to media persons in Haveri yesterday, the minister informed that out of 91.91 lakh rural households in the state, over 28 lakh households are provided tapped water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission.

Agriculture minister B C Patil has issued instructions to complete projects under Jal Jeevan Mission on time to provide tap water supply in rural areas.

During 2021-22, the mission is to provide tap water supply to 25.17 lakh houses in the state.

The



minister launched a project to provide piped water supply to Ingalagondi, sattagihalli and Shiragambi villages in Rattihalli taluk of Haveri district yesterday.

This will benefit 1055 rural households. He issued instructions to the officials to ensure that the work quality taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission is of high standard.

The minister informed that the Central Government wants to provide piped water to 15.70 Crore rural households in 18.93 crore rural areas.

The Central and State Government each make 37.5 percent of the allocation and the remaining amount is shared by the Gram Panchayat and the beneficiaries.
