Jammu: In Jammu and Kashmir, an exhibition cum sale of exquisite Indian Handicrafts begins at Jammu Haat on 8th Feb 2023.
The Chairman, of Wool and Woollens Export Promotion Council, Union Ministry of Textiles, Ramesh Khajuria has inaugurated the exhibition which is being organized by the Rural Artisans Welfare Society and sponsored by the office of Development Commissioner for Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles.
The objective of organising the event is to provide a marketing platform for the artisans to sell and promotion of their products besides having direct interaction with the ultimate customers to understand their choices and
requirements.
Nearly, fifty artisans from different states of the country are participating in this exhibition with their products like terracotta products, carpets, pottery, jewellery, Kashmiri embroidered shawls, suits, pherans, gift items, cane bamboo products and a variety of other handicraft products.
While addressing the artisans, Ramesh Khajuria said that the Textiles Ministry is committed towards the welfare of poor artisans and weavers. He emphasized the need to organise more and more such exhibitions to provide direct benefit to the artisans.
The exhibition shall remain open till the 15th of Oct 2023.
