In Jammu and Kashmir, the winter capital Jammu has been reeling under severe cold conditions for the last several days. 

Jammu on Sunday recorded the season’s lowest day temperature, about 11 degrees below normal. Fog and poor visibility in Jammu areas and many parts of the northern region continued to disrupt normal life, badly affecting air, train, and vehicular traffic. Four flights and two trains were cancelled while seven flights and eight trains were delayed at Jammu on Sunday due to foggy weather conditions. 

A MeT official said that Jammu recorded a day temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius, which is 11



degrees below normal (18.8 deg) on this day of the season. The night temperature in Jammu, however, was 5.6 degrees Celsius. The Katra township on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 15.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 4.6 degrees Celsius, Bhaderwah town a day temperature of 15.1 and night temperature of -0.4  degrees Celsius, Batote a maximum of 15.4  degrees Celsius and a minimum of 1.7 degrees Celsius while Banihal town a minimum temperature of -1.2 degrees Celsius and maximum 16.2 degrees Celsius. It indicates that Jammu was much colder during the day than Banihal, Bhaderwah, and Batote on Sunday.
