The 300-km-long Srinagar Jammu National Highway continued to remain closed on both sides. The rain and fresh snowfall continued in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir Valley since yesterday as the MeT forecast inclement weather during next 48 hours.
The bad weather forced the authorities to suspend the scheduled one-way traffic movement from Srinagar towards Jammu. Air traffic was also disrupted with the cancellation of inbound and outbound
flights from Srinagar airport.
Met Department Director Sonam Lotus added that there will be a gradual increase in rain and snowfall across the State followed by improvement from tomorrow.
Traffic officials told that decision regarding permission to allow traffic movement on Srinagar Jammu highway will be taken this morning after considering weather and road condition.
