In Jammu and Kashmir, the traffic authorities have decided to close the 270 Kms long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the only all weather road connecting Kashmir Valley with rest of the country, on every Thursday for the month of February for maintenance and repairs instead of Friday.
As its first Thursday today, the Jammu-Srinagar
National Highway will remain closed for any traffic. General public and drivers are advised to adhere to the traffic restrictions.
Earlier, the UT Government had ordered to suspend the Traffic movement on Jammu -Srinagar national highway on every Friday for repair and maintenance of the highway.
