Japan is set to invest 5 trillion yen or Rs 3.2 lakh crores in India over the next five years. The announcement follows after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Saturday during the India-Japan Annual Summit.
Japan’s investment target in India follows investment promotion partnership of
2014.
Japanese PM Kishida, accompanied by a high-level delegation, arrived in Delhi at around 3:40 pm on Saturday on his first visit to India as the head of the Japanese government.
"Advancing friendship with Japan. Prime Ministers @narendramodi and @kishida230 held productive talks in New Delhi. Both leaders discussed ways to boost economic and cultural linkages between the two countries," PM Modi's office tweeted.
