Janata Dal(United)’s Lok Sabha Member Baidyanath Prasad Mahto from Vamikinagar Parliamentary Constituency passed away on Friday evening while undergoing treatment at AIIMS in Delhi.

He was 72 and elected to Lok Sabha from Vamikinagar in 2009 and 2019 as Janata DaL(United) candidate.

He was deputy leader of the Janata Dal(United) in the



current Lok Sabha. Condoling his death, Bihar Chief Minister  Nitish Kumar said Mahto was very popular in his Constituency.

He said, his death has caused an irreparable loss to the state’s political circle and society as well. Mr Kumar announced that Mahto’s last rites would be performed with full state honour.
