Janta Dal United suspended former Bihar social welfare minister, Manju Verma, from the party on Thursday.

State JD(U) President Vasistha Narayan Singh said the party is not protecting her and law will take its own course.

The Supreme Court had rapped the Bihar police for its failure in arresting Manju Verma in a case related to the

recovery of ammunition from her house during a raid conducted by CBI in connection with Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case.

The court expressed surprise over the stand taken by the state government by expressing its helplessness in catching the former minister in a case lodged against her and her husband under Arms Act.
