In Jharkhand, fifty-nine nomination papers were rejected during scrutiny for the third phase of Assembly elections. Now, 314 candidates remain in the fray. 373 candidates had filed nominations for this phase.
The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till tomorrow. 17 constituencies spread over eight districts, including Ranchi, Koderma and Hazaribagh, will go to polls in this phase on 12th December.
Meanwhile, Campaigning is in full swing for Jharkhand Assembly elections. It has been intensified in those areas where the first phase of election will be held on Saturday. The first phase of elections will be held in 13 constituencies spread over six districts including Latehar, Palamu, Garhwa and Gumla.
AIR correspondent reports that the leaders of various political parties including BJP, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) and AJSU are making whirlwind tours
throughout the state to woo voters.
Addressing election meetings in Hariharganj Senior BJP leader and Chief Minister Raghubar Das alleged during JMM- congress rule Naxalism and extremism activities were increased. Senior BJP leader Arjun Munda said only BJP can provide a stable government in the state.
Exhorting people to vote in favour of grand alliance JMM leader Hemant Soren said this election is a fight between capitalism and poor. In an election meeting in Gumla JVM leader, Babulal Marandi promised if his party is voted to power all districts of the state will be connected through rail.
Besides Congress and left parties AJSU leader Sudesh Kumar Mahto, LJP leader Chirag Paswan RJD leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav also addressed election meetings. The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will go to polls in five phases between 30th November and 20th December. Counting of votes will be taken on the 23rd of December.
