In Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has announced to extend the existing Lockdown in the entire state till August 31, in wake of the increasing number of COVID19 cases detected in the state. No gymnasiums, cinema halls, movie theatres or multiplexes will open in Jharkhand during this period.
The orders will come into effect from August 1, and movement except for essential services shall remain prohibited from 9 pm to 5 am in morning, prevailing the existing guidelines of night curfew. Inter-state and intra-state bus services will also not be operational during this period, while people coming from outside Jharkhand have to remain in 14 days essential quarantine period.
All religious places, educational
institutions, coaching classes, shopping malls, hotels, lodges, cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres, entertainment parks, bars, spa and saloons, gymnasiums and swimming pools will remain closed till August 31 across the state during the extended Lockdown orders.
Relaxations provided earlier to those sectors and industries for economic activities outside the Containment Zones shall continue. At present, the total number of confirmed cases has gone up to 10,496 while 468 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the recovery rate in Jharkhand has further declined to 40 percent, after a total of 4,176 people have won the battle against COVID 19 and have been discharged from hospitals.
