J&K: Army and Police in joint operation successfully foils infiltration bid by neutralizing a terrorist in Kupwara district

In Jammu & Kashmir, Army and Police in a joint operation successfully foiled an infiltration bid yesterday by neutralizing a terrorist along the Line of Control (LoC) in Amrohi area of Tangdhar Sector in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. According to Police, in the early hours yesterday a joint cordon and search operation was launched in Dakhen Amrohi area of Tangdhar Sector near Zero Line on the LoC. 

During the search operation,



movement of terrorists was observed who were trying to infiltrate. They were challenged by the joint party in which one terrorist was neutralized. Taking advantage of the thick bushes and rugged terrain, two to three other terrorists accompanying the killed terrorist escaped back to Pakistan side of LoC. The joint team also recovered arms and ammunition. The killed terrorist is believed to be a Pakistani national.
