J&K celebrates 71st Independence Day

The 71st Independence Day is being celebrated across the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir with full patriotic fervour and gaiety today. 

The main regional level funtion of Independence Day Celebrations took place at Parade Ground Mini stadium in the winter capital city Jammu where the Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Dr.Nirmal Singh hoisted the Tricolour and took salute of the March past.

In his address on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that in Jammu and Kashmir the Pakistan sponsored terrorism has taken the



lives of so many innocent people and security forces' personnel. 

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government in centre is committed to put an end to the menaces of terrorism and separatism from Jammu and Kashmir once for ever.

He added that the PDP-BJP led government in Jammu and Kashmir with all possible help from the centre has intiated a new era of development across the state. At the district headquarters across the region, various minisers of the state government lead the Independence Day Celebrations.
