In Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the affected areas of Ramban district to personally assess the ground situation. Accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Ramban and senior civil and police officials last evening, the Chief Minister toured Marog, one of the worst-hit villages, and Kela Morh, where a cloudburst had triggered flash floods.

The district administration informed the Chief Minister that clearance operations are underway, with teams from the Public Works Department, Border Roads Organisation,

disaster response units, police, volunteers, and residents working around the clock to remove mudslides and boulders and to restore normalcy in the affected areas.

The natural calamity has claimed three lives and caused extensive damage to residential structures, vehicles, and critical road infrastructure. The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and assured them that the government stands in solidarity with the victims of this tragedy.
