Jammu and Kashmir government has launched an e-Auction portal to promote trading of GI tagged ‘Kashmir Saffron’ across the country. Launching the portal, Agriculture Director Altaf Aijaz Andrabi said that the sole aim of providing this type of platform to the buyers is to have access to quality ‘Kashmir Saffron’. 

He also added that e-auctioning will provide an efficient platform to the saffron growers for getting optimum



returns of their yield and buyers will be assured that the saffron purchased through this platform will be tested certified quality produce.
 
Mr Andrabi stressed upon the officers involved with e-auctioning to conduct awareness among key businessmen and market linkage experts to acquaint them regarding various facilities being provided at India International Kashmir Saffron Trading Centre especially e-auction market.
