The Jammu and Kashmir government has launched a scheme for disabled soldiers and their dependents by providing credit on concessional rate of interest to set up self-employment ventures.
Announcing this in Jammu, the State SC, ST and Backward Class Development Corporation Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram said yesterday that the scheme is being launched in collaboration with the National Handicapped Finance and Development
Corporation.
Disabled soldiers or dependent relatives of such soldiers, who are permanent residents of the state, having disability of 40 per cent and above can avail maximum loan of 25 lakh rupees with 4-7 per cent rate of interest per annum.
Mr. Balbir said that this will boost self confidence among disabled soldiers through self-employment and the corporation proposes to provide them credit on concessional rate of interest.
