J&K Guv Satya Pal Malik says there is no shortage of any medicines in State

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has said that there is no shortage of medicines and essential commodities in the state. Mr Malik told media persons in New Delhi that enough stocks are available for the people to buy. 

The Governor was in the national capital to pay his last respect to former union finance minister and BJP leader Arun Jaitley. In a statement, state government said, out of 1,666 chemist shops in Srinagar, 1165 remained open yesterday. It said, Kashmir Valley has 7,630 retail chemist shops



and 4,331 wholesale shops and around 65 per cent shops remained open there. 

The governor said, in fact, authorities delivered meat, vegetables and eggs to people's doorsteps on Eid. Mr Malik said curbs on communication helped save many lives in the state. He said, no life has been lost in the state due to any violence in the last 10 days after the abrogation of the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir and its division into two Union Territories.
