Jammu: In Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Air Force and the UT Government are jointly organizing a two-day Air Show from today to celebrate 76 years of accession of J&K into Indian Union on October 26, 1947 and the Diamond Jubilee of Air Force Station, Jammu. The Indian Air Force is all set to enthrall people with maneuvering of fighter aircrafts and daredevils teams with aircraft like Sukhoi, War Helicopters near Western Border in Jammu.
The world-renowned teams of Indian Air Force will carry out a display at the Air Force Station Jammu from 930 to 11 AM on 21 and 22 September. This is the first of its kind Air Show and Air Awareness Campaign to be held at Air Force Station, Jammu. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will be the chief guest for the grand event. The Air Show will have the world-famous IAF, Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT), the Aakash Ganga Daredevil Skydiving Team, Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), Mi-17 helicopters and the IAF band.

are also expected to showcase low-level aerobatics and maneuvering. The marquee event will showcase the scintillating and speculator display of precision flying and performance by nine aircraft team, flying Hawk MK-132, Mi-17 medium-lift helicopters showcasing the slithering and Small Team Insertion and Extraction techniques, free fall para jumpers and precision drill movements by AWDT. 130 Helicopter Unit which is a resident unit of Jammu, will be showcasing the helicopter operations and with the Guard Commandos of IAF.
The display will showcase the operational capability of the Indian Air Force with an aim to motivate youth to join the elite service and it will also aim to sensitise the general public the hazards for aviation and how they can assist in aviation safety. The display will be open to the general public apart from schools, Air Veterans, Civil dignitaries and personnel of defence forces and Air Force Station Jammu.
