In the Kashmir Valley, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 35th University Council Meeting of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar yesterday. The University Council discussed important policy matters and gave in-principle approvals to various agenda points for the overall development and administrative functioning of the university.
On the
occasion, the Lt. Governor emphasized the need for the university to have its own Seed Centre for the distribution of quality seeds to farmers. He also advised the university to strengthen outreach programs so that innovations and technologies could reach farmers. The meeting was attended by Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lt. Governor; Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary, and other officers.
