Jammu: Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Dr Hardeep Singh Puri yesterday said that during the last nine years under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the country has achieved tremendous development in almost every sector.
Addressing a press conference at BJP Headquarters, Jammu, the Union Minister said that during the toughest time of covid pandemic, our government supplied dry ration to 80 crore people and is still giving them. He said about 12 crore water connections were given to the poor people and 12 crore toilets were also constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission while 26 lakh street vendors
were given loans under Prime Minister Savnidhi Yojana.
The Union Minister said in the last nine years India has become the 5th largest economy in the world. He exuded confidence that in the near future India will be larger economy in the world.
Regarding development in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr.Puri said 3500 kms roads have been constructed and 100 bridges constructed . In addition to this the health sector has also improved and AIIMS has been constructed at Vijaypur in Jammu and ten hospitals constructed in various districts.
