The Government yesterday said the Judges’ strength of the High Courts has increased from 906 to 1114 in the last 10 years. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said the appointment of Judges of the Supreme Court and High
Courts is made under the Constitution of India, which does not provide for reservation for any caste or class of persons. He said only those persons are appointed as Judges, who are recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium.
