In Uttar Pradesh, the state is shivering from cold and chill where mercury has dipped to zero degree Celsius at Kanpur making it coldest city yesterday.
Chilly wind and fog has badly affected normal routine of people's life. It has disrupted Rail, Road and air traffic across the state. The government has directed administration for all possible help of poor and stranded people suffering from chill and icy cold.
State capital Lucknow shuddered at 0.7 degrees and Bahraich recorded a low of 0.2 degree Celsius yesterday that is 7 and 9 degrees below the normal
respectively.
Dozens of trains are running several hours late due to fog and many have been cancelled. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, through video conference, instructed District Magistrates for distribution of blankets and establish more night shelter houses near the railway station, bus stands and hospitals.
State Relief Commissioner said that 4,60,000 blankets have been distributed so far.
Chief Minister has also instructed to make proper arrangements for cows and standard animals in state.
