Anantapur: Rayadurg MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy, who quit YSRC a couple of days ago, is all set to join the Congress.
He is planning to contest from Kalyandurg assembly constituency while fielding his wife or son from the Rayadurg segment.
Ramachandra Reddy quit YSRC after it denied him a ticket to contest the 2024 assembly elections. He also did not get an appointment for meeting Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The Rayadurg MLA, along with his wife and daughter-in-law, met AICC member N. Raghuveera Reddy at
his residence in Neelakantapuram of Madakasira mandal in Satyasai district on Tuesday for about two hours.
Sources said Ramachandra Reddy will be joining the Congress after Raghuveera Reddy speaks to AICC AP in-charge Manikam Tagore.
While Congress party high command has welcomed Kapu Ramachandra Reddy into the party, it has not given him any assurance on both Rayadurg and Kalyandurg seats that he is seeking. Already, there were already many senior leaders in the race for Kalyandurg constituency.
