Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has postponed the date of cabinet expansion by two days due to the death of noted playwright and actor Girish Karnad. The expansion which was originally scheduled to be held on June 12th  will now be held on Friday afternoon. There are three vacant positions in the 34-member Cabinet - one under the Congress' quota and two of



the JD(S). 

Two independent legislators - R Shankar from Renebennur and H Nagesh from Mulbagal are said to be under consideration for induction into the Cabinet. In the 224-member Legislative Assembly, the Congress-JD(S) combine has a strength of 116 whereas the BJP has 105 members.
