Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basaraj Bommai has assured that the mortal remains of Indian student Naveen Gyanagoudar who was killed in shelling in Ukraine will be brought back to India at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the mortal remains of Naveen are embalmed and kept in a mortuary in Ukraine. Quoting the External Affairs minister S Jaishankar, the Chief Minister informed that all efforts are being made to bring back the mortal remains to India at an
earliest.
He further said that the Indian embassy is in constant contact with the concerned authorities in Ukraine to arrange the shifting of mortal remains. He further said that Ukraine is still under attack from Russia and heavy shelling continues. The body can be brought back when the shelling subsides and flights resume operation.
