Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has issued instructions banning the use of bouquets, garlands and shawls in the official meetings and functions. As per the instructions by the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary P. Ravi Kumar immediately passed the order.
The order says that from now on, Kannada books may
be given instead of bouquets. The Chief Minister who arrived at the meeting of senior police officials yesterday, refused to accept the bouquet.
Calling it unnecessary expenditure, he said, there is no need to give bouquets, garlands and shawls in the name of protocol.
