Demanding steps from the Union Government to enhance security measures in Jammu and Kashmir to restore peace there, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday stated he was not in favour of war with Pakistan over Pahalgam terror attacks which claimed 26 lives of tourists.

“There is no need to wage a war against Pakistan,” asserted the Chief Minister while talking to media persons in Mysuru city but steps are needed

from the Union Government to tighten security in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, he said, as per the directions of the Union Government, steps have been initiated to identify Pakistani nationals staying in Karnataka and measures will be taken to make them return to their country. “Information has been gathered on Pakistani nationals staying in various parts of the State and in particular Bengaluru city,” he said.
