Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has assured 1.2 lakh rupees compensation along with houses for the victims of rain and flood. Speaking to media persons in the flood-affected Belgavi yesterday, he said those losing houses to rain will be given new houses along with the compensation. This he said will help people to relocate to safer locations away from areas prone to flood and other natural calamities.
He said that all the steps are
taken to repair roads and bridges and electric poles and transformers are rectified. The Chief Minister said that the forecast says that rains will continue in the Northern part of the state bordering Maharashtra for this week. Hence the revenue department, disaster management authorities, forest department, energy and irrigation department officials have been asked to be on alert.
