Bengaluru: Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister Umesh Katti died of cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Bengaluru last night. He was 61. An eight time MLA from Hukkeri in Belagavi district, Umesh Katti had served in the cabinets headed by Chief Ministers JH Patel, BS Yediyurappa, DV Sadananda Gowda and



Jagadish Shetter. He joined BJP in 2008 from Janata Dal. Expressing grief over the death of his cabinet colleague, 

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the state has lost an experienced statesman, dynamic leader and a loyal public worker.
