Bengaluru: Karnataka Government has released an order to sponsor Kashi yatra for Hindu pilgrims. Karnataka's minister for Muzrai, Haj and Wakf Shashikala Jolle informed that an order was issued yesterday to start a programme to extend financial help to pilgrims to visit Kashi. This is in accordance with the budget announcement made by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
The minister said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped improve infrastructure in Varanasi for the pilgrims and it has come to be known as Divya Kashi-Bhavya Kashi. Many in
the state have been visiting Kashi Vishvanath temple and the State Government will now provide five thousand rupees to 30,000 pilgrims this year to visit Varanasi.
The minister also informed that the Government is planning to build a Guest house in the pilgrim town of Pandharpur in Maharashtra for the devotees from Karnataka to stay there. She said, 750 lakh rupees is sanctioned to build a fully furnished guest house in Pandharpur, where the famous temple of Lord Krishna or Pandarinatha Vittala is situated.
